This is not academic theory. It is clinically grounded education designed to help you apply what you learn with your own patients.
Most of us were not taught how to assess tongue tie functionally.
And we were not taught how to support breastfeeding families
as part of a collaborative team.
You care deeply about the families you serve, but tongue tie cases
can leave even experienced professionals feeling unsure.
A baby is struggling at the breast.
A parent is asking for answers.
You suspect oral restriction may be part of the picture.
But then what?
Too often, professionals are left piecing together information from short trainings, conflicting opinions, social media posts, and research that does not always translate clearly into clinical care.

- What am I really seeing?
- Is this a functional restriction or something else?
- When should I refer?
- What support is needed before or after release?
- How do I explain this clearly to families?
And that uncertainty has consequences.
What This Costs You—And Your Families
When you lack confidence in tongue tie assessment,
you're not just uncertain - you're potentially:
❌ Missing ties that impact lifelong feeding, speech, and airway health
❌ Over-referring families to procedures they don't need
❌ Losing referrals to other professionals who ARE trained
❌ Watching families give up on breastfeeding when support could have helped
❌ Second-guessing yourself with every challenging case
That is why this training exists.
The Professional’s Guide gives you a functional, dyad-centered framework so you can assess with more clarity, communicate with confidence, and understand your role with the interdisciplinary care team.
You can move from uncertainty to a clearer clinical process- starting today
This is a clinically grounded, comprehensive training designed to help you move from

Yes!! Our programs are open to all lactation, birth, medical, and dental professionals. We include body work, speech therapists etc...Anyone who is taking care of pregnant or breastfeeding families, or infants in any capacity is welcome! Why? Because most families give up on their feeding goals before they see a lactation consultant. Families need every one of us.
You will have access to the modules for one year. To receive your certificate with LCerps, modules must be completed within 1 year. The way accreditation works, we cannot guarantee access to credit beyond one year.
YES! 6 L-Cerps are available through IBLCE if you chose the Professional or Mentorship level. Certificate will be awarded upon completion.
Badge to display on your website or social media is also included for all graduates.
We have heard that other accrediting organizations are cross-honoring the credit, but there are no guarantees.
In this course Lisa shares her step by step evaluation method, relying on signs and symptoms, to evaluate within your scope of practice.
Yes! You can work through at your own pace. The modules are recorded and you can rewatch as many times as you need.
This is myth that we will discuss in the course, and the most important reason for you to be able to advise a holistic approach to treatment. Too many infants are being sent for procedures without considering if it is warranted, and without being prepared. By learning how to guide this care, you will save infants from unnecessary intervention and assure more successful outcomes when the procedure is necessary.
✔ Assess tongue tie through function, not appearance alone
✔ Recognize when symptoms may be related to oral restriction, feeding mechanics, body tension, supply, or other factors
✔ Understand your role before and after release, within your scope of practice
✔ Guide families with clearer education, preparation, and expectations
✔ Communicate more confidently with other providers on the care team
✔ Use a repeatable clinical framework instead of piecing together fragmented information
